About the Role
Reporting to the Configuration Manager within Operations, this role is central to maintaining the integrity of our engineering documentation. You will manage document control, drawing verification, and configuration baselines, ensuring everything from revision history to BOM accuracy is correct before release.
Key Responsibilities
Manage company documentation and drawing control processes, including numbering, revision control, and traceability
Maintain configuration baselines and process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and New Product Configurations (NPCs)
Check engineering drawings for accuracy, compliance, and correct revision levels
Verify consistency between drawings, BOMs, and specifications
Compare BOMs against assembly instructions to catch and resolve discrepancies
Support project documentation and new product configuration tracking
What You Will Bring
National Senior Certificate, with a relevant diploma or BSc (preferably engineering) advantageous
5 years' experience in document control or configuration management, ideally within defence or manufacturing
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, BOM structures, and assembly processes
Proficiency with ERP and/or PLM/PDM systems (SAP, Syspro, NAV, or similar)
High attention to detail and a methodical, process driven approach
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines under pressure
Knowledge and skills:
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and standards
Experience with BOM structures and assembly processes
Proficiency in ERP and/or PLM/PDM systems (e.g., SAP, Syspro, NAV)
Ability to read, interpret, and verify technical documentation
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
