Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled, technically strong CNC Machinist, Setter, and Operator who can bring precision engineering to life. This role requires an ambitious, self-motivated professional capable of operating independently to program, set, and run advanced machinery, while keeping a sharp eye on quality control and first-line inspections.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
Minimum (Essential): N2 Qualification with Mathematics.
Desired (Suggested): N6 / National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant trade.
Experience & Core Expertise
Proven Track Record: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a qualified Machinist.
Hands-on Expertise: Deep practical experience in CNC programming, setting, and operating, alongside general machining and skilled hand work.
Software & Computer Literacy
Essential: Mastercam (Advanced/Intermediate), MS Excel (Basic), and MS Word (Basic).
Preferred: Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
Language: Fluent English proficiency.
Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
1. Operational Excellence — 95%
Router Management (30%): Successfully set up, program, and run routers.
CNC & Conventional Lathe (30%): Set up and expertly run CNC and conventional lathe machinery.
CNC & Milling (10%): Manage everyday CNC and milling work.
Engineering Support & Prototyping (10%): Collaborate closely with the engineering team to assist in prototype builds.
Quality Assurance & NCPRs (10%): Assist with Non-Conformance Product Reports (NCPRs), fault-finding, and first-line inspection of manufactured products.
Administration (5%): Perform and maintain accurate manufacturing and administrative records.
2. Ad Hoc Duties — 5%
Perform any other operational duties as required by management to support changing company requirements.
Technical Skills & Attributes
Blueprint Ready: Outstanding ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, diagrams, sketches, and technical documents.
Material Selection: Sharp technical intuition to evaluate and select the right materials for each job.
