This position requires full-time presence at our Centurion, South Africa office.

We’re looking for someone who can take full ownership of a specialised product portfolio and drive it from concept to production and beyond. As Product Owner for our Direction-Finding antenna portfolio, you’ll sit at the intersection of Product Management, Engineering, Production, and Business Development. You’ll guide product strategy, manage lifecycle decisions, and ensure our products remain technically competitive, commercially viable, and production ready. You’ll also act as the first line of defence on product issues, support production teams, drive configuration and change control processes, and help translate market needs into clear product roadmaps. 1. POSITION

Position title: Product Owner – Direction Finding Department: Product Management Reporting to: Chief Product and Solutions Officer

Main purpose of the role: The Product Owner – Direction Finding has end-to-end ownership of Alaris' Direction-Finding Antenna portfolio. This role ensures that the portfolio achieves strong market fit, maintains design and production integrity, and delivers sustainable profitability across its lifecycle.

The Product Owner serves as the link between Product Management, Engineering, Production, and Business Development — managing stakeholder requirements, driving roadmap execution, supporting production teams as first line of defence on product issues, providing technical sales support, and safeguarding the configuration and integrity of products during change processes.

2. REQUIREMENTS

Education (essential):

  • Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering, Product Management, or a related technical discipline.

Minimum applicable work experience (years):

  • 3 years

Required nature of applicable experience:

  • Product ownership, product design or product management within defence, RF or antenna manufacturing environments.

  • Experience in configuration management, change control (ECR/ECO), and production support processes.

  • Deep understanding of C-UAS, EW, or tactical communication systems and antenna integration principles.

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional product initiatives from concept to production.

Computer literacy (essential):

  • MS Office

  • Matlab

Language proficiency: English

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Portfolio Strategy & Market Fit Define and drive the strategic direction of the Direction Finding antenna portfolio, ensuring strong alignment with defence market trends and customer needs.

Product Roadmap & Lifecycle Management Develop and manage the product roadmap while overseeing the full lifecycle from concept and development to sustainment and obsolescence.

Production Support & Product Integrity Support production teams by resolving product related issues, ensuring configuration control, and maintaining product compliance and performance.

Stakeholder Alignment & Cross Functional Coordination Act as the central link between Product Management, Engineering, Production, Sales, and Project Management to align requirements and drive product initiatives.

Commercial & Financial Performance Monitor portfolio revenue, margins, and lifecycle costs while supporting pricing strategies and cost optimisation initiatives.

Product Representation & Communication Serve as the subject matter authority on Direction Finding products, supporting internal teams, clients, and partners with accurate technical and portfolio information.
